Weekly photo challenge – A Face in the Crowd

A Face in the Crowd

“Every face, every shop, bedroom window, public-house, and dark square is a picture feverishly turned–in search of what? It is the same with books. What do we seek through millions of pages?” ― Virginia Woolf

Sweet? Sweetheart!

Mama was my greatest teacher, a teacher of compassion, love and fearlessness. If love is sweet as a flower, then my mother is that sweet flower of love. – Stevie Wonder

Life is Temporary

“Everything that I hold will eventually be gone. Subsequently, the quality of my life will depend on whether I choose to appreciate those things ‘now’ or wait until ‘then.” ― Craig D. Lounsbrough

Weekly photo challenge – Bridge

Erasmus Bridge Rotterdam

Oh, here we are at the bridge. I’m going to shut my eyes tight. I’m always afraid going over bridges. I can’t help imagining that perhaps, just as we get to the middle, they’ll crumple up like a jackknife and nip us. So I shut my eyes. But I always have to open them for all when I think we’re getting near the middle. Because, you see, if the bridge did crumple up I’d want to see it crumple. What a jolly rumble it makes! I always like the rumble part of it. Isn’t it splendid there are so many things to like in this world?” ― L.M. Montgomery

Weekly photo challenge – Transient

Weekly phot challenge - Transient

Transient flower

The flower bloomed and faded. The sun rose and sank. The lover loved and went. And what the poets said in rhyme, the young translated into practice ― Virginia Woolf, Orlando

Weekly phot challenge - Transient

An empty hospital. In every room traces of the previous  inhabitants. Children were born and people died.  A lost flower.  Transient in time.

Weekly photo challenge – Out of Focus

Eve in the Cellar

“The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It’s the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows & the beauty of a woman only grows with passing years.”  ― Audrey Hepburn

I took these pictures of Eve in a cellar of an old empty Hospital in absolute darkness. For me every picture was a surprise. I just asked here to be there. Most are out of focus but to my surprise I did capture her eyes absolute right.  That the lower part of her body is out of focus gives the pictures  just enough justification to make them part of the Weekly Photo Challenge 🙂
