Abandoned houses

In Gouda, The Netherlands, many old houses that are abandoned by their owners are impossible to sell. Some remain empty for several years. A lot of times items are left behind to give the impression that the house is still lived in. Nobody buys that of course. It always makes me sad to imagine how people lived and loved in these abandoned houses are long gone or even dead.
